Wanita Music Show

Hallo, apa kabar? I am Jawa Jones a DJ, radio host and record collector with roots in Jakarta, Indonesia. I love playing and collecting music from around the world, particularly 60s garage, psych, East Asia beat and soul. My passion for music has taken me across Europe’s top club nights and festivals, including the iconic Beirut Groove Collective, Berlin Beat Invasion, Garageville, Barcelona Psych Festival, Gambeat, Wild Weekend and Festival Beat.
I regularly host two events in London: Wanita, a female-focused vinyl night at Walthamstow Trades Hall and East Asia Beat at Spiritland with my DJ partner Lucky Cat Zoë.
Beyond the dance floor, I run Wanita Music,** an initiative I started in 2018 to champion female DJs and promote women in music.
Additionally, I host the Wanita Music Show on Radio X Frankfurt City FM 91.8, on the first Friday of every month at 10:00 CET featuring a smorgasbord of global female artists and inviting women from the music industry to share their stories and favourite records.
